JUSTIN KRAMER
Justin Kramer is a former Nassau County Assistant District Attorney experienced in all aspects of criminal law. Prior to accepting a position to co-manage the Criminal Defense department at Spar & Bernstein, P.C., he spent five years in his role as an Assistant District Attorney, trying well over fifteen cases to verdict. Justin worked most recently in the Street Narcotics and Gangs Bureau, where he prosecuted serious felony cases, including a number of high profile media cases.
Prior to his nearly two years in the Street Narcotics and Gangs Bureau, Justin worked in the Nassau County District Attorney’s County Court Trial Bureau, Grand Jury Bureau, Felony Screening Bureau and District Court Bureaus. He handled thousands of cases including attempted murders, assaults, robberies, burglaries, narcotics related offenses, driving while intoxicated offenses, etc. While at the Nassau District Attorney’s Office, Justin worked closely with law enforcement on a daily basis conducting investigations and prosecuting cases. He is well versed in the art of police tactics, investigation and questioning procedures. Justin maintains an excellent reputation amongst his colleagues, judges and court personnel.
Since joining Spar & Bernstein, P.C., Justin has zealously advocated for and defended the rights of his clients accused of a wide variety of crimes including assault, forgery, driving while intoxicated, criminal possession of stolen property, and weapons related charges, to name a few. Justin has served as a judge for the St. John’s University School of Law in their mock trial competitions. He has also appeared on the radio fielding legal questions related to various criminal law matters. Justin is a graduate of St. John’s University School of Law where he served as the Editor in Chief of the St. John’s Journal of Legal Commentary and participated in mock trial competitions. Justin also received his undergraduate degree from St. John’s University obtaining a BS in Finance.

KARTHIK RAJU
Karthik Raju joined Spar and Bernstein as a Managing Partner of the Criminal Defense department in 2012 and is a well known and highly regarded criminal defense attorney. His practice focuses exclusively on handling complex criminal defense matters all over New York State, including all ranges of state and federal violent felony offenses. To date, Mr. Raju has successfully handled thousands of criminal cases, and he has represented Defendants in numerous high publicity cases. Many of the matters Mr. Raju has handled have appeared on television and in national and international publications. His extensive knowledge and achievements in this field have led him to appear as a legal commentator on radio.
Prior to joining Spar and Bernstein, Mr. Raju practiced as a criminal defense Trial Attorney with a highly reputed firm from 2006 – 2012. During this time, Mr. Raju successfully defended a wide range of cases including violent burglaries, robberies, rapes, drug sales, and minor traffic infractions. Mr. Raju’s skills at vigorously cross examining police officers and civilian witnesses resulted in the dismissal of cases and suppression of statements and evidence. His unwavering dedication to his clients and his commitment to fighting for their innocence distinguished Mr. Raju as among the most aggressive and accomplished defense attorneys. He is highly respected by Judges, Prosecutors, and colleagues in the criminal defense bar. Mr. Raju completed his undergraduate studies with honors at New York University (NYU), and he received his Juris Doctor from Emory. While in law school, Mr. Raju received various awards for his writing, oral advocacy and negotiations skills. He limits his practice exclusively to the defense of criminal matters, and he practices extensively in all New York counties. He is admitted to practice in New York and Federal courts.
